1. What will I be qualified and insured to do?

2. What background do I need?

Whilst a background in fitness, sports science or similar may be an advantage it absolutely is not a pre-requisite. Far from it. Some of our most successful graduates had no prior experience in fitness whatsoever. What is required is a positive attitude and willingness to learn. We offer a range of teaching styles to suit different learners preferences and offer various one-on-one and small group workshops and tutorials to ensure students get the support they need to succeed.

3. Will I be able to travel with my qualification?

Absolutely, you will be able to transfer your registration to travel down under, throughout Europe and with a little support from ourselves can easily add an American certification after completion to work in the States. Some of our graduates are working in Dubai, others in Kenya and South Africa as well as Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore.

5. What is the pass rate?

Paying your course fees does not guarantee a pass. The level required to attain the status of EIF Master Trainer™ is high. And some of our students don’t pass first time. However, with our promise to allow you to sit our courses for free for life once enrolled, all of our students pass the course eventually. Our courses attract the most motivated students – you will be studying with other like-minded students and this, more than anything else, will help you attain the levels required. Ongoing weekly tutorials and support means most pass first time.

6. Will I cope with the intensity of the course?

Yes. The high practical emphasis, ongoing support throughout the duration and beyond and teaching methods deployed makes sure the delivery supports all students. Your only requirement is to work hard and have fun.

7. How does online work?

Our online course leads to the same qualification just via a slightly different route. Students study at the their own pace initially working their way through our online recorded library before attending 10 weeks of live classes in our virtual classroom. Finally students attend our residential School of Personal Training to complete their training over a 10-day practical training program.

8. How do the guaranteed positions work?

Fitness First boast the largest number of clubs, most members and most vibrant PT system for their trainers in the UK and indeed is the largest health club operator in the world. Trainers pay a weekly rent for exclusive access to all gym facilities and in return operate their own PT business from the club taking all revenue generated with no commissions payable to the club. There are more than 160 clubs to choose from and Fitness First will visit the school before you graduate to ensure your contracts and agreements are all set up, signed and sealed before you even graduate. You will be able to earn immediately after you complete the course with us.

9. Who is your awarding body?

We are both a CYQ (Central YMCA Qualifications) and EHFA (European Health and Fitness Association) accredited training provider with additional ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) endorsed courses for those wishing to advance their qualifications even further.

10. What are the opportunities like for

qualified personal trainers?

Whilst there are plenty of positions and expanding opportunities there are also more and more qualifying trainers. A guaranteed position is a fantastic safety net. Trainers who can stand out earn the best incomes and generally live the happiest lives. All EIF graduates can work as a qualified PT on graduation, guaranteed! It’s why we are a School of Excellence and not available on every street corner.
